learning to glide past the disregulation of trauma in search of the safety seat...In the past, I would have been steamrollered by the resurfacing of the traumatic relationships, deaths and other violences in my life. Although I felt pathetic and ineffective for the rest of the day, I managed to keep going. That, in itself, was a victory - a glimmer of a new age dawning in me.
Oh Melissa this is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing pieces of your heart with us. Your revelations also stirred some things up for me that I have been wrestling with, and as always your words are right on time. This particular writing feels very Chiron to me, and speaks to the healing possibilities that are always there underneath our most sensitive triggers. Sending you lots of love.
You're so right Rae Ann, Chiron all the way. I considered mentioning him but felt it was smoothest in this instance to keep the astro references out and I have an older draft of Chiron Returns to post at some point. I'm so glad to hear my sharing supported you in your journey. Love received and reciprocated :)
You're right Sean that this in-deed how I experience existence, which is why I've often found it difficult to fit the fullness of my experiences into the way folks chat. Thus the writing. I trust there's some benefit to others, beyond the therapy it provides me! Thanks for reading :)
..."where the light gets in..." This is lovely, mox. I not only hear you but relate in so many ways to what you describe. I am happy I read this, this morning. No crew boat, but happy tears. Hearing Leonard Cohen in my head... and seeing your smile and your heart.
Oh, yes absolutely! He and Rumi have been such a balm to me, a guiding light to hold tightly to in the midst of the wounding. And perhaps indirectly part of the whole 'trust the longer journey' focus for me. Thanks for the love and light :)
